Better information about the status of the package. It came through a contracted service in bulk from Hewlett-Packard. The normal staff at the national FexEx call center tried to act like they knew what was going on. After a third call, someone connect me with the IPD call center and I had the shipping process explained to me. Your on-line tracking system is not meant to handle these packages and it makes you believe your package is lost in a very inaccessible country -- CHINA!!!! The IPD CSR explained why the package sat in Shanghai for two days -- because shipments are made on a space-available basis. This is something that the national call center should automatically route calls to the IPD group when a customer inquires about a package being shipped this way. They simply do not know what is happening at the national call center and assume their computer is completely right (and then make incorrect conclusions which are just out-right wrong).

It was rediculously slow, considering it was only shipped 100 miles and took three days to get it to the post office and then a day for delivery (because it arrive mid-day on the third day). Maybe if FedEx would have gotten that box to the post office before 6am like they have previously or in the evening on the 2nd day instead, I would have had it on the third day, not the fourth. It just was crazy for a two hour car drive to take four business and six calendar days! The estimate gave them five business days to get it to me -- for 100 miles -- that's rediculous!

Generally, it's been good -- this is a notable exception. Amazon seems to be using this service a lot so we'll see. I hope FedEx can do a good job getting them to my local post office.

Stop lying to it's customers. My package was shipped on 7/17/09 and the original tracking showed a delivery date of 7/19/2009. My package was listed as "on truck for delivery" on 7/19/2009 but didn't arrive. I contacted FedEx Customer Service with one question-Why was my package not delivered? Customer Service talked around my question instead of answering honestly. Customer Service even responded that FedEx Home delivers Tuesday through Saturday and then updated their tracking system to show an attempted delivery on a MONDAY 7/20/2009 an obvious attempt to cover up not delivering on time and a blatant lie as FedEx Home doesn't deliver on Monday. FedEx can make me happy by going out of business and leaving the shipping to professionals like UPS and USPS where customers come first and there are no liars to deal with.

They could make it easier for people to pick up packages sent through the "home delivery" sector. The hours at the pickup locations are not good for people who have to work a 9-5 job. Also, the closest pickup location for my area is a half hour drive away.
